What is this?
Artichoke Community Music workshop led by Avery Hill, $20.
Many of us enjoy participating in jams, but have you ever considered leading a song at a jam? Learning to count folks in, and keeping time so everyone ends together, too, deepens the musical skills you already have and provides such a fulfilling musical challenge for those who love to play with others. This workshop will model for you all the skills and steps you need, and guide you through trying it out yourself!
What to bring:
An instrument to lead with - strumming instruments are great for this workshop, including ukulele, guitar, mandolin or banjo. Whatever you are most comfortable with.
If you have a specific song you'd like to try leading, please bring a copy for yourself plus at least 5 copies to share. This is not required - you're welcome to choose from our examples, or just observe and learn from others trying it out.
A good attitude! We'll be learning by doing, supporting each other as we engage with a new skill set.
Note: Everyone is welcome to stick around for the monthly ukulele jam that begins at 2 pm, regardless of what instrument you play.
